The Leicester wool is one of the softer wools available. The fleece offers a nice staple length for strong yarns and beautiful felt projects. It has wonderful character for craft projects as well.

A Blue Face and Border Leicester cross light gray fleece on the sheep.
The wool from these sheep is long and easy to work with. Inviting and inspiring, it is what I like to see. I also enjoy dyeing the gray fleece as it offers deep rich woody tones that have been very popular.
